As a food lover, I wanted to create a personal project of a restaurant website. I always felt that the website of a restaurant is the beginning of an dine-in experience.

Being a fan of Japanese cuisine, i wanted to design a modern, minimalist UX/UI website. I kept in mind that I wanted to capture the luxury experience as well when using this website.

Challenge

This was a previous iteration of the BMW website. I found that the design lacked sufficient white space and did not fully capture BMW’s signature minimalistic yet sporty aesthetic. My redesign aimed to enhance usability while integrating emerging technologies such as AR and VR to create a more engaging customer experience.

Visual Direction

At the beginning of the design process, I created a mood board for Kokoro Sushi’s branding and website, emphasizing warmth, authenticity, and modernity. I selected wood tones with subtle reds, browns, and blacks for an inviting yet refined look. For typography, I chose Helvetica Light, Thin, and Ultra Thin, ensuring a clean, minimalist design. My aim was to merge traditional and modern elements for a user-friendly experience.

Branding Standards

I aimed to create a simple, elegant logo for Kokoro Sushi that reflects authenticity and modern refinement, embodying the restaurant's identity. To maintain brand consistency across platforms, I developed guidelines for spacing, color variations, and typography to ensure a cohesive and polished presence on menus, websites, and social media.

Logo Design

The goal in designing the Kokoro Sushi logo was to create a modern and timeless look that reflects the restaurant's friendly vibe. I made two designs in case one didn’t work in certain situations.

Final Design

Designing the foundation of Kokoro Sushi was a rewarding experience, seeing the final vision come to life. I kept a minimalist approach while seamlessly merging Japanese elegance with my creative touch, ensuring the design felt both authentic and modern.
