Home Furniture
UX/UI Branding
Skills: UX/UI Design, AR/3D
Tools: Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & Stager
Part of my objective for this project was to build an app that fully embraced a minimal and modern aesthetic while focusing on the UI/UX design. My goal was to create a better overall experience for browsing and shopping for furniture within the app.
Challenge
When designing the Home Furniture App, the main challenge was creating an experience that felt seamless, intuitive, and engaging for users browsing and purchasing furniture online. Many existing platforms struggled with overwhelming navigation, lack of visualization tools, and inconsistent user flows, making it difficult for customers to confidently choose products.
Understanding The User
I created detailed user profiles based on research. These personas show important behaviours, demographics, goals, and challenges of potential customers. I wanted to understand their motivations and problems, so I improved the design to enhance usability, organize content better, and create a more engaging browsing experience.
Designing For The User
This style tile establishes a cohesive visual identity for a furniture app, using the modern Roboto font and an earthy colour palette to reflect sophistication. Minimalist interior imagery targets the audience. I designed button styles, intuitive icons, and a structured footer to improve user interaction and navigation. This tile serves as a reference for a consistent, engaging user experience throughout the app.
Sketches
I sketched the Home app with interactions—browsing, product details, cart management, and checkout—before each layout, always focusing on straightforward navigation and a clean design. All these iterations allowed for better visualization of some key features of AR product preview and a smooth checkout process while the design was being created through user needs. These early wireframes laid a good foundation for an evolved, user-friendly UI/UX design.
Mobile UI Kit
Having a UI kit was essential for this project. I was inspired at the time by a very minimalistic approach. I incorporated a warm, neutral colour scheme, simple fonts, and easy-to-use forms for smooth navigation. Well-designed icons, buttons, and images improve usability, while clear payment options and feedback enhance the shopping experience.
Exploring the App
This video guide highlights how easy it is to use the Home Furniture App. It covers everything from logging in to browsing furniture options. The design promotes smooth movement, simple actions, and a consistent look, making shopping easy. The app simplifies browsing and keeps a clean, modern style so users can effortlessly find the right furniture.
Enhancing UX with AR
I added 3D and AR features to the Home Furniture App, enabling users to see how furniture looks in their space before buying. I wanted to add this because it helps connect online shopping with real-life choices, making the experience more interactive and reassuring.
Final Design
The final Home Furniture App project was one of the most detail-oriented projects I’ve worked on to date. I’m incredibly proud of what was accomplished, and I can confidently say that this project challenged me creatively and pushed my design skills to the next level.
